Maltese House Training Tips

Don't let the idea of Maltese house training delay you in starting one of the most important behaviors in you and your Maltese life. Once you get started, it's actually a lot of fun with house training only the beginning. If you want your puppy to be happy, you need to realize that they need to be able to spend time indoors with you.

Malteses prefer to enjoy interacting and being with their human family and not living alone outdoors. That and the fact that they're hair is beautiful make them an indoor, on the special pillow, royal sort of dog.

WHAT IS HOUSETRAINING?
House Training is a series of steps taken to communicate your desires to your dog concerning bathroom habits. The intent is to associate going outdoors with bathroom duties.

Crate Training is simply a method of keeping control of your pet inside your home when you cannot be watching them. It is NOT storage of your puppy nor is it being cruel to your pet. Here are a number of Important Tips for Successful Maltese house training.

TIP #1 Yelling in anger at your dog can make them afraid of you and mistrustful. It can cause your Dog to hide in another room to go to the bathroom. Yelling, hitting and threatening your pet only results in setting up a relationship based on fear and not trust and enjoying being together.

TIP#2 Look for reasons to praise your dog. The key to house training is to tie together your pleasure with the behavior. If it's fun, the puppy will be interested in doing more of it. If it's NOT fun, well, see the tip above.

Watch for signs that your dog is looking for a place to go to the bathroom. When you see the signs, immediately take them to the door, put them down and PRAISE THEM. They made it (with your help to the door) then take your dog outside to the bathroom area and wait.

You want to stay with them until they go. This will give you another opportunity to praise, pet and encourage your Malteses good behavior of going to the bathroom outside.

This is actually one of the areas where owners seem to have difficulty and a typical dog housetraining problem like having accidents in the home can complicate the effort.

TIP#3 Speaking of consistency, use only one word to mean one thing. Don't use Bathroom one time, then potty the next. Your pet has enough trouble figuring out what you want without having you use different words that mean the same.

TIP#4 Crate Training is not the same as penning up your puppy inside the house. Rather, it's a way for you to keep control of your pet in a humane and safe way. Crate training is a day and night effort until your puppy understands what's expected and can hold their waste for more than a few hours.

This means that puppies will wake you at night to go out but it's only for a few weeks and this is actually a good thing when potty training.

As you might guess, Maltese house training takes effort both day and night. And lugging that dog crate from room to room is no pleasant day at the park. The answer of course, is an easy to move, lightweight portable dog crate. Move it from your living room to your bedroom with 1 hand.

What you need is a lightweight, easy to move dog crate that can be placed in any room without a lot of struggle or effort. From night time use to keeping your new best friend close to you during the day when going about your indoor life, you need to check out the lightweight, easy to use, easy to carry, easy to set up doggie crates only available from the link below.

This will make Maltese house training much easier to achieve. Picture being about to keep your pup close without having to fight moving a heavy unmanageable metal cage or cumbersome plastic crate.
