TIP#2 Consistent behavior is Important. That's YOUR behavior not your dogs. Both puppies and adult dogs respond much more positively to a consistent schedule than to a hit and miss one. Know your pups schedule and use it to your advantage. Do they get up and prefer to eat right away? If so, right after eating, take them outside to urinate.

Eating presses on the bladder and causes them to want to go. Take your puppy outside and let them go so you can give them loads of praise. This is important because you want your puppie to remember outside-bathroom-and your happiness all in one thought.


TIP#3 When a dog has an average vocabulary of about 30 words or so they understand, you don't want to waste 10% or more of her understood words just so you can use different commands.

This tip is... Use Single Word Commands and use them consistently. We're not talking about commands all being a single word in the literal sense here. Going outside is a good command, going potty, go potty, bathroom break, etc. are all perfectly acceptable commands if used consistently.

Don't use go potty one time, then bathroom break the next and Go out and go pee, the next and expect your puppy to quickly understand what you want them to do.



TIP#4 Watch your pet when inside your home. Penning your puppy isn't the same as house training. Your puppy needs to be confined to their crate whenever you cannot actively watch them. It only takes a few seconds for an accident to happen so you need keep a watchful eye to limit accidents.

The last tip is to simply have patience. While many dogs can be frustrating, they simply need time and consistent effort on your part to finally understand what is expected of them.
