Crate training dogs is no different that trying to teach your adult dog to site, stay or walk on a slack leash. All it takes is time, consistency and patience. To get to this point in your house training efforts may take a week or more. Your dog needs to become accustomed to being inside your home and comfortable with his crate area. This is the step that needs to be completed before crate training an adult dog can actually take place. Once you've arrived at this point in the training, it's possible to begin the house breaking routines that will deliver the success you desire.
