Dog House Training The Right Way

So you have a new pet and are starting to think about how you plan to successfully accomplish dog house training, well good for you! If you want your dog to be happy, you need to realize that allowing them to be inside with you is critical. Most dogs prefer to enjoy interacting and being with their human family and not living alone outdoors.

WHAT IS HOUSETRAINING?
House training is associating your pleasure with your dogs understanding that they need to go outdoors to urine and defecate.

House training using crate training methods makes it much easier for your pet to associate what you want them to do with your positive response.

When you are House Training a Dog, be aware that they are simple creatures that need patience from you. With this in mind, here are a couple of great dog house training tips.

TIP #1 No matter how frustrating your dog may seem, remember they AREN'T out to get you. Dogs simply do not have the reasoning skills to sit and think up ways to "get even" with you. So you should never hit, yell, scold or otherwise discipline your dog in a negative way.

TIP#2 OK, next tip is to be consistent in your potty training efforts. Take your dog outside immediately after a feeding. Don't wait for them to have an accident. The majority of puppies also cannot hold their water with a full tummy. A full stomach pushes on the bladder.

By taking them out at regular times, you lower the possibility of accidents. You also gain the opportunity to give your pup praise when they go the bathroom outside where you want them to go.

TIP#3 Dogs use voice inflection and body language to understand much of your communication. (another reason why yelling and threatening your dog is not good.) Most dogs have an understood vocabulary of about 20-25 words, so don't mix them up using different words to mean the same thing.

TIP#4 Cage Training is not the same as penning up your dog inside the house. Rather, it's a way for you to keep control of your pet in a humane and safe way. Crate training is a day and night effort until your dog understands what's expected and can hold their waste for more than a few hours. This means that puppies will wake you at night to go out but it's only for a few weeks and this is actually a good thing when potty training.

Keeping your dog under control means either watching her every minute or confining her in her cage. What you want to keep your puppy involved with what you're doing in the house but not allowing her to roam free is an important key to successful dog house training.

The answer to all this work is the new, lightweight doggie crate available only on the site below. It's the answer for those of us who are serious about successfully house training our dogs so they will be a good member of the family for years to come.

Dog house training takes involvement with your pet as much as possible. Having your pup close is great especially if you no longer need to carry around a heavy metal cage or bulky plastic crate.
